Please send your best diaper rash tips and tricks! My little guy has it so bad and nothing it working! We did a breast milk bath last night which helped a bit but today it’s back to how it was, he’s bright red and there’s one spot that’s even a little raw, we change him every time he goes and have been using aquaphors diaper rash paste but it doesn’t seem to help, he’s screaming and crying every time we change him and it’s obviously painful for him and I feel so bad. My first never had any diaper rash like this

Breast milk worked for me way better than diaper cream. But before you put anything on baby’s bottom, make sure it’s dry.

Triple paste! + letting it air out between changes. Also don’t wipe for pee diapers

@powerpuff31,
yes! Triple paste is the only one we use now.

It could be yeast so let your pediatrician know. We use butt paste with every diaper change at our house, even if there’s no rash.

@gab1205,
perfect! Good luck! My first born had the worst diaper rashes no matter what we did but using butt paste (the one in the red tube) every diaper change worked best for us for keeping them at bay. We’ve been using it with each diaper change for this baby, but he doesn’t have nearly the issues my first born had. I think some babies are just a lot more sensitive than others.

What is going to help is no longer wiping his butt. Get some wee wee pads and fill a peri bottle with warm water and clean the area with water then pat dry then cream then new diaper.

Resinol! And make sure diapers are not too snug. Like others have said don’t be wiping with wipes except to get poop off. And CAKE the Resinol on I mean put a bunch on it

Naked time! I promise you, you will be shocked at how quickly it goes away. Wrap baby in a towel

@FLBoyMommy3,
it doesn’t have to be terribly long either. You can do a 2 hour contact nap and there will still be improvement! Do it for a few days and the rash will be gone.
Also, make sure baby’s booty is dry before applying any paste. We use (and love) aquaphor.

Aquaphor doesn’t heal only protect! I learned this the hard way with my toddler when they were out of desitin so we bought aquaphor. When there’s a really bad rash I use triple paste instead of desitin though

- dry wipes wet with water only
- facial tissues to ensure the entire area’s skin is COMPLETELY dry before applying any barrier cream
- use cotton swabs (or other disposable applicator) to apply cream every time
- ensure the above for every single diaper change
- change dirty and wet diapers as soon as possible
Moisture is your enemy. Dryness and protection help. (Never use powders.) Slightly loose diapers help; they shouldn’t be tight fitting.
Air time is awesome, but challenging.
It could be fungal, which requires an anti-fungal cream to treat.

I had the same with my first born. Using a warm wash cloth during all diaper changes followed by aquaphor has worked wonders. Also making sure the area is dry as much as possible.

Mustela Liniment is amazing! Our baby got a bad rash recently and nothing was working either, I bought this diaper change cleanser and noticed a big improvement within just 2 days!
